Enhanced Employment Pass Framework

From 1 Jan 2012, the qualifying salary for the Q1 Pass will be increased from $2,800 to $3,000, together with a tightening of educational qualifications. The qualifying salary for the P2 Pass will be raised from $4,000 to $4,500. There will be no change in the qualifying salary for P1 Pass which remains at $8,000.   • Fixed monthly salary≥ $2,800
  • Possesses recognised qualifications
  • In lieu of recognised qualifications, compensatory factors such as skills and years of experience may also be considered (a minimum of five years relevant work experience is recommended)
More Information
  • MOM provides regular updates on the types of jobs which are expected to be in high demand in Singapore over the next few years.
  • There is no dependency ceiling or levy for the Employment Pass.
  • Any person or company that falsely declares salary, academic qualifications, or submits forged documents in the Work Pass application shall be dealt with under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act (Cap.91A).
  • Food-stall Licensees are not allowed to employ foreign workers on Employment Passes. Unlike restaurant operators, food-stall licensees normally operate small stalls in hawker centres, coffee shops or food courts. These are small, and can be operated by the licensees themselves or with family assistance.
Passes for Family Members
Employment Pass applicants may apply for the Dependant's Pass (DP) and/or Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP) for their family members. The DP/LTVP application and supporting documents may be submitted together with the Employment Pass application or separately.
Dependant's Pass
Both P and Q1 Pass holders can apply for a Dependant's Passfor their:
  • Spouse
  • Unmarried or legally adopted children under 21 years old
Long Term Visit Pass
P Pass holders can also apply for a Long Term Visit Passfor their:
  • Common-law Spouse
  • Unmarried daughters above 21 years old
  • Handicapped children above 21 years old
  • Step-children under 21 years old
  • Parents and parents-in-law

Foreigners who wish to apply for an Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate must fulfill one of these requirements:

 

Documents Required

These documents and information are required for Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate applications:

  1. Certified true copy of tertiary academic qualifications, transcript or professional qualifications
  2. Copy of a skilled migrant visa (if applicable)
  3. Photograph of the applicant (passport-sized and taken within last three months)
  4. Personal particulars page of applicant’s passport/travel document

Important information

Applicants who hold non-English documents or certificates are required to submit a copy of the original papers and the official English translation done by a certified translator, High Commission/Embassy or a notary public.
