Job Description and requirements:
1) The layout designer position in the Reliability Engineering Department requires 4 or more years of experience in full custom layout design in sub-micron semiconductor device technology nodes. In this position, the layout engineer work closely with various internal teams in the Reliability department to create suitable technology reliability characterization structures in advanced sub-micron technology nodes.
2) The work involve full spectrum of layout, starting with definition, pcell development, actual structure layout with documentation on structures, DRC/LVS verification/debug and deliver quality layout to tape out operation. This will be followed up mask level layout verification and ensure that the intended structures are correctly implemented.
3) Excellent understanding and experience on device layout using industry standard design and layout tools is a must, with demonstrated experience in technology characterization and/or reliability test structure layout, IO layout and layout of functional circuit blocks.
4) Ability to understand and implement rapidly test structures using pcells/skill codes is highly desirable to be efficient in day-to-day work. In addition to this, good skills in floor-planning, layout physical verification, database preparation, documentation and mask data review are part of daily job.
5) Understanding of the basics of semiconductor device process is desirable and work in tandem with device design/reliability engineer for layout requirements.
Required Qualifications:
1.BS plus 4 years experience or similar with hands on experience full custom layout and layout verification tools (preferably Cadence Layout tools and Calibre Verification tool).
2.Demonstrated experience to generate test structures and sub-circuits, and work with schematic tools, coupled with experience in physical verification tools to be able to debug DRC/LVS/ERC independently.
3.Well versed in UNIX environment.
4.Knowledge of PCELL/Skill coding, Perl, Cshell and any other scripting-language.
5.Excellent communication skills to work in a multi-continental R&D team along with good and structured layout planning skills to provide quality layout without much supervision.
